Rats and What to Do if You See Them

Steps to Take:

1. Spot the rats

Once you notice rats or the negative repercussions of them. Act fast as rats are a risk to your health and cleanliness.

2. Reach out to your landlord

Reach out to your landlord through a letter, alerting them to the rat problem occurring in your unit. Request that they help you contact an exterminator.

3. Document everything if possible

Take photos and document when you see the rats. If you cannot take a photo of the rats try and take a photo of the damage they caused.

4. File a complaint with the city

You can file a complaint with the city health department as rats are a health issue. To file a complaint call 1-888-700-995.
